1954 yılının Ağustos ayında, Yenicami mahallesinde, yaşlı Lefkoşa’nın kucağına doğdu... Çocukluğu buralarda, Selimiye civarında ve Mahmut Paşa mahallesinde geçti... 1958’de, 4 yaşındayken, Lefkoşa Türk Lisesi öğrencilerinin İngiliz Koloni yönetimi polisleri ile çatışması sırasında, öğrencileri dağıtmak için atılan göz yaşartıcı gaz ile tanıştı...
1963’te, 9 yaşındayken, 47 yaşında olan babası Kara Yusuf’u kaybetti... Birkaç ay sonra da 21 Aralık olaylarını yaşadı... Korktu... Çok korktu... 9 – 10 yaşlarında, şehitliğe dönüştürülen Tekke Bahçesinde, şehitlerin gömülmesine yardım etti...
Yokluklar içinde, abluka altında olan yaşlı Lefkoşa’da hayat devam ederken, 15 yaşında eline silah alıp Mücahit oldu... Öğrenci Mücahit... Gündüz okulda, gece mevzide... 1974’te, 20 yaşında askerlik görevini yaparken savaşı yaşamak zorunda kaldı... Büyük korkular yaşadı... Savaşta roketatar (bazuka) kullandı... Başarılıydı da!!!
Savaş sonrasında gazeteci oldu... Türkiye’de, Anamur’da Kıbrıs’ın Sesi Radyosu’nda görev aldı... Sonra Kıbrıs’a döndü... Önce Bayrak Radyosu, daha sonra Bayrak Televizyonunda görev aldı... 1986’da BRT’den ayrıldı ve çeşitli gazete ve ajanslarda çalıştı... Ülkenin ilk internet gazetesi "Kimgazet"i yayınladı...
1989’da, Kıbrıs Gazetesi’ni kuran ekibin içinde yer aldı ve ilk Yazı İşleri Müdürü oldu... Çeşitli dönemlerde Kıbrıs Medya Grubu'ndan ayrılarak başka medya kuruluşlarında çalıştı... BRTK Yönetim Kurulu Başkanlığı, Kıbrıs Türk Gazeteciler Birliği Başkanlığı yaptı......
Bu arada, ülkedeki Bankalar krizi sırasında, batan bankalardan birinin Yönetim Kurulu Başkanıydı... Bu krizi takip eden Annan Planı döneminde, Kıbrıs Medya Grubu’nun Genel Yayın Yönetmeniydi ve süreçte, barış yönünde taraf oldu...
Haziran 2016'da Kıbrıs Medya Grubu Genel Yayın Yönetmenliğinden emekli oldu...

Editor in Chief § Kibris Media Group is made up of Kibris Newspaper (largest circulation (10,000 per
day)Turkish language daily of North Cyprus), Cyprus Today (the only English
language weekly of North Cyprus), Kibris FM and Kibris TV. As editor-in-chief, I am responsible from all
the editorial and programme content of the
publications and broadcasts.
Coordinator § ASNA Holding is the main body which runs a variety of businesses in
North Cyprus. These businesses range from financial services to media. I was
responsible for the coordination between the companies.
Editor in Chief § Halkin Sesi
is the oldest Turkish language daily of North Cyprus. During my service in Halkin Sesi I upgraded the
technology of the paper and employed a fully computerized system in the
production of the paper. Editor, Publisher and Webmaster § Cyprus Communications Centre (www.cypruscenter.com)
is an independent news agency which I founded and which produced and
published the first daily Turkish language internet newspaper (Kimgazet) in North Cyprus. I personally designed the
website and edited all the contents. The agency also produced a daily Turkish
Cypriot Press Digest in English. I later transferred it to someone else.
Stringer § As Reuters stringer I covered news events in North Cyprus.
Deputy Editor in Chief § As the Deputy Editor in Chief of the group I was responsible from the
editorial content of the Turkish language daily Kibris
and the English language weekly Cyprus Today.
Translator, Editor § I translated and edited news stories and articles to be used by the
office in its bulletins which were published in both Turkish and English.
Editor § I was the editor of the Turkish Cypriot daily, Kibris.
I took part in the team which founded, prepared and published Kibris in 1989.
Editor § NCNA was an independent news agency which produced news bulletins in
Turkish and English languages. I was responsible from all the contents of the
bulletins.
Head of TV News § I worked as reporter, news editor and broadcaster in both Turkish and
English language services of Bayrak Radio & TV,
which is the official broadcasting authority of North Cyprus. I produced and
presented a weekly programme in Turkish, on TV,
called Notes from the Parliament for three years. I also produced and
presented, a daily programme on radio in Turkish,
which covered the Turkish Cypriot Press. I was promoted to the position of
Head of TV News in 1983 and was responsible from all the news content of the
TV programmes.
1974 – 1978 Voice of Cyprus Anamur, Turkey Translator, Editor and Broadcaster § Turkish Cypriot radio broadcasting to Cyprus from Anamur,
southern Turkey. I worked as editor and broadcaster in the Turkish language
department and as translator, editor and broadcaster in the English language
department.
